Sun sets over an iconic Australian landscape. Happy Australia Day!
In celebration of Australia Day, we take you to one of the country’s most stunning landscapes - the MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory. Located almost in the very centre of Australia, the ranges were formed at least 1000 million years ago and attract plenty of hikers seeking out one of the best views in the world. Both the East and West MacDonnell Ranges stretch out for hundreds of kilometres on both sides of Alice Springs, but the western ranges, which we’ve focused on today, were actually made famous by the works of Albert Namatjira, one of Australia’s best known artists - beloved for his iconic works inspired by the outback.
