Marsala salt pans are a part of the Stagnone Reserve, which has been a protected area since 1995 and occupies an area of about 1,000 hectares. In ancient times, sea salt was extracted at the reserve, but now, this beautiful place is managed by World Wildlife Fund Italy, which protects the numerous avian species that periodically migrate to the Marsala area.
This unique location offers a variety of experiences. For example, you can visit the mill or enrich your experience with a visit to a thematic museum to understand the reserve's cultural aspects. You can also take a beautiful, guided walk, which includes a visit to the mill.
