Welcome to Acadia, one of the USA’s smallest national parks, which has some of the most spectacular star-filled night skies in the eastern United States. The natural darkness is protected by restrictions on outdoor lighting in the park and surrounding areas and its celestial star shows are celebrated during the Acadia Night Sky Festival, which started on 21 September.
