These teacup-sized golden jellyfish are only found in one place on the planet. Jellyfish Lake on the island of Eil Malk, in the Pacific island nation of Palau, is teeming with them – about a million live here, following the sunlight which nourishes them. They start the day at the lake’s eastern end and drift westwards until dusk, following the arc of the sun. Algae live inside them, absorbing sunlight and providing the jellyfish with energy in return.
