Lost in the frost
Looks like this frozen fen in the Netherlands really felt the freeze last night. When the chill sets so deep that both the air and the surfaces it contacts are well below the freezing point, moisture skips the condensation stage, freezing directly onto objects without forming droplets first. This type of frost is called hoarfrost, and the effect is dramatic, often coating every nook and cranny in sight in snow-white fuzz.
