Go with the gusts
Our paragliding pal here is taking advantage of the many winds that zigzag above Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy. The steep surroundings give rise to so many winds, in fact, that many of these gales have names. Two are especially important to the local gliding and sailing scenes: the Ora and the Pelèr. On most summer mornings, the vigorous Pelèr blows south until around noon, when the Ora picks up and heads back north. Together, the twin winds create a sailor's superhighway at the narrow northern end of the lake.
