The Tulip Stairs at Queen’s House in Greenwich, London
This sweeping staircase is located in Queen's House, the former royal residence built between 1616 and 1635 in Greenwich, London. The building was designed by Inigo Jones and is the earliest example of classical architecture in England. The Tulip Stairs, the first geometric self-supporting spiral staircase in Britain, are one of the original features of the house, and the setting of a famous ghostly photograph from the 1960s that appears to show one or more phantom figures clutching the railings.
