Follow that coastline west into Karnataka and you'll reach a quieter stop near Ankola: Gabit Keni Beach. Life here revolves around the Arabian Sea, with fishing boats setting out before dawn and returning with the day's catch.
The beach is named after the Gabit fishing community. It's an easy stop while exploring the Uttara Kannada district, especially alongside Gokarna, Karwar and the historic Mirjan Fort. Birdwatchers may spot coastal birds near the stream, while photographers often stop by during the softer light of early morning. Why not sample local cuisine?
