Renowned as the 'City of Three Rivers', Passau in Bavaria, Germany is a charming destination. Passau, located at the meeting point of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers, has a history that dates back to the Roman era. St. Stephen's Cathedral, which features distinctive onion domes and houses the largest cathedral organ in the world—nearly 18,000 pipes! The cathedral is only one example of the town's beautifully preserved architecture. Passau was once also well known for its manufacture of swords and bladed weapons. If a fighter's blade had a Passau wolf stamped on it, legend had it the sword made the fighter invulnerable to attack. Fortunately, visitors shouldn’t need a sword, just a healthy appreciation for beautiful historical architecture.
