Kolli Hills or Kolli Malai is a small mountain range located in central Tamil Nadu and spread over the Namakkal district of India. The mountain is a site of pilgrimage, because of the Arapaleeswarar temple, but the area is also popular with motorcycle enthusiasts because of the high-altitude motor-able terrain with 70 hairpin bends.
Yes! You read it right. The 70 hairpin bends, which are spread across a little more than 15 kilometres are nearly continuous and it is indeed a pleasure to drive on these winding roads. This beautiful location is referred to as the Kolli Malai, and it means the ‘Mountains of Death.' The spot is famous for Agaya Gangai waterfalls and a Shiva temple.
