We’re swimming through a large group of jack fish in Cabo Pulmo National Park on the east coast of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. This marine park in the Sea of Cortez is home to the northernmost and oldest coral reef on the west coast of North America, estimated to be about 20,000 years old. There are plenty of jack fish here, but divers and snorkellers in Cabo Pulmo can also come across many other species of fish and marine mammals, including types of sharks, whales, dolphins, tortoises and manta rays. The area was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005.
