Pacific Rim Whale Festival
Following a two-year hiatus, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival is back to celebrate the annual migration of Pacific grey whales. Every March, approximately 20,000 grey whales leave their winter lagoons in Mexico and head over to their summer feeding grounds in the coastal waters of Tofino in British Columbia. This seasonal mass migration makes for a remarkable spectacle. Given the on-going pandemic, this year, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival will not include any in-person gatherings. However, there will be a virtual celebration, featuring a variety of educational and entertainment events.
