A window carved by the wind
Many of us love a window seat but few provide sights as spectacular as Nature’s Window here in Kalbarri National Park, on Australia's west coast. Located 300 miles north of Perth, the park serves up scenic gorges through red and white banded sandstone deposited millions of years ago.
The main attraction, however, is this sandstone stunner – an opening formed by wind erosion. Find the perfect angle to catch glimpses of the river in the distance and its surrounding greenery. It’s also one of the best places in the country to watch the sun rise.
If you prefer a little more adventure, you can take a stroll to the Kalbarri Skywalk, two 328ft (100m) high platforms overlooking the gorge, or enjoy a spot of abseiling, rafting and canoeing.
