A window carved by the wind
From planes to cafes, many of us love a seat by the window but few provide sights as spectacular as Nature’s Window here in Kalbarri National Park, in Western Australia. Located 500 kilometres north of Perth, the park offers up scenic gorges through red and white banded sandstone deposited millions of years ago. In normal years, it welcomes thousands of visitors keen to enjoy the tranquillity and rocky terrain.
The main attraction, however, is this sandstone stunner – an opening formed by wind erosion. Find the perfect angle you’ll be able to catch incredible glimpses of the river in the distance and its surrounding greenery. It’s also one of the best places in Australia to watch the sunrise.
If you prefer a little more adventure, you can take a stroll to the Kalbarri Skywalk that shows off views of the gorge, or enjoy a spot of abseiling, rafting and canoeing. We’ll stick to the window…
