Majestic waterfall
Today we’re gazing at Hamilton, Ontario’s most iconic waterfall – Webster’s Falls. It was originally named Dr. Hamilton’s Falls after Dr. James Hamilton had bought the land in 1818. Two years later, the waterfall and the surrounding land was acquired by Joseph Webster, hence its current name. The Webster family gravestones have been preserved and are located in the vicinity.
Visitors frequent the falls for its stunning 22-metre-high plunge and for its proximity to numerous hiking trails. This time of the year adds an added layer of scenery with the fall foliage taking over the landscape. With the current situation surrounding Covid-19, sightseers are advised to follow physical distancing measures and are required to make a reservation prior to their visit.
