The mighty grizzly
Mighty and powerful, the grizzlies are solitary animals with a significant population in Yukon and British Columbia. Despite being massive predators, they primarily feed on nuts, fruits, plant roots and fish. Every summer, the grizzlies tend to accumulate fat before going into their hibernation dens for months. While adult grizzlies can weigh up to 900 pounds, they can be impressively speedy runners, having been clocked at 48 kilometres an hour.
