Desert in the Prairies. Sand dunes in motion
While Saskatchewan is known for its flat farmlands, the Great Sandhills make for a unique site with at least 1,900 square kilometres of active sand dunes. It is a protected area with a museum offering an insight to the geography and history of the region. The moving sand dunes create an ever-changing landscape, rewarding visitors with different patterns and sculptures in the sand with every visit.
