A unique celebration. Cultures blend at the Nizamuddin Dargah
Vasant Panchami, or Basant Panchami as it is also known, is observed in honour of Goddess Saraswati, who is revered for the gifts of knowledge and arts. It is the beginning of spring. Most astrologers agree that it is an auspicious day to start new ventures. Yellow being the colour of spring bears a lot of significance during the festivities. Devotees can be seen adorned in yellow, as they celebrate the blooming of mustard.
