Tundra swans take flight. A seasonal swan song
As autumn continues across the equator, thousands of tundra swans can be seen on the Mississippi River Valley – a migration corridor for many species of waterfowl. Birders visiting the Midwestern American state may spot the tundra swans as they make their way to favoured wintering grounds in coastal regions of the country. They travel in family groups of about a hundred, and if you can’t see them, you’re bound to hear them. Tundra swans are a noisy bunch – they have a high-pitched honking call and are especially vocal while foraging.
