Happy Thanksgiving!. An appetite for fruits
This is the Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) feeding away on it’s favourite type of food – sweet berries. This bird can be found in a variety of habitats from fall through spring that consist of fruit-bearing trees and a source of water. While some populations of the Bohemian Waxwing live year-round in B.C., Alberta, and the Yukon, a handful of them migrate south during winters to get closer to areas where fruit is ripe and abundant. Since their preferred residence is open woodland, you can spot them with ease at parks, golf courses and even college or university campuses.
